CROP Participants are drawn from high schools across the state of Nebraska, from
Omaha to Osceola and Anselmo-Merna. Wayne State College joins these high
schools with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to complete the list of CROP
participants.

Dr. Todd S. Young, Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy, heads up
the CROP
efforts here at Wayne State College. Dr. Young is the Wayne State RHOP and
MARHOP Coordinator, and belongs to the Nebraska State Education Association
(NSEA), the American Association of Physics Teachers, the Planetary
Society, and is a current State Board Member of Area Health Education
Center. Besides becoming involved with CROP, Dr. Young actively
participates in the "Physical Science on the Road" Show and is very active
in promoting the Science Fiction and Fantasy Club on campus and the Wayne
Community Theater. In his spare time, Dr. Young likes to write and root for
the Minnesota Vikings!

Beth
Johnson is now a
senior at Wayne State College. She has been
involved in CROP since Wayne State College joined the project
in 2001 at the Summer Workshop at the University of Nebraska
at Lincoln. Since then, Beth has been instrumental
in helping to keep the CROP effort alive at WSC. This website was
actually created as part of her Senior Honors Project, allowing
her to fully incorporate her fascination with CROP and physics
with her Marketing major and Art and Online Media minors.
Beth is active in several campus
oraganizations, including Phi Beta Lambda Business Fraternity,
Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society, Cardinal Key Honor
Society, Campus Crusade for Christ, Art Club, Advertising Club
and the International Club.

Kyle Prososki has participated in CROP at two different schools.
Kyle originally joined CROP in 2001 while in high school in
Osceola. He is currently a sophomore at Wayne State college,
majoring in Chemistry as a Pre-Pharmacy student. Kyle's primary
responsibilities with CROP include keeping our equipment
functioning smoothly, teaching new students the ropes, and
overseeing continuing experiements while setting up new ones.
As well as working faithfully on CROP, Kyle is also
a Resident Assistant in Berry Hall for the Basement guys' side.

Ryan
Klinetobe joins CROP in the fall of 2003. He is currently a
senior at Wayne State College, majoring in Interdisciplinary
Studies in Physics. Ryan hails from Battle Creek, Nebraska, where he
excelled in football and wrestling. Now at Wayne State College, he
is in charge of collecting and analyzing our cosmic
ray shower data. Ryan is also maintaining our equipment with Kyle
and making sure the scintillators are in top working condition. When
Ryan isn't working on CROP he can often be found watching a
football game or out playing a round of golf. |

Tyler
Maas worked on CROP during 2002. He attended the CROP 2002
Fall Seminar in Lincoln, NE and was instrumental in helping
to collect our initial set of data. |

Richard
Engel worked with us on CROP for the first two years of
our participation in the project. Rich attended the CROP
2001 Summer workshop with Beth. Rich was a physics major
while working with us on CROP. He is now a Computer Science
Major and is working on other projects. We wish him the
best in his new endeavors. |
