Wayne State College is participant in the Cosmic Ray Observatory Project (CROP), an internationally recognized cosmic ray research project funded largely by the National Science Foundation. CROP is led by Drs. Dan Claes and Gregory Snow from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

CROP invites high schools across the state of Nebraska (and some colleges) to get their students involved in real physics research. Workshops are held at UNL each summer, with a half dozen schools in attendence. Three to four weeks of intense physics and astronomy learning are paired with hands-on data-collection and training.

The result of these workshops prepares the teachers and students of the participating schools to go back home and continue collecting and analyzing cosmic ray data.

Please explore our website, which showcases Wayne State's involvement in CROP since 2001 and our current cosmic ray efforts.
