Animal
Testing is a Necessity!
A little boy is born with the major pumping chamber of his heart missing
(left ventricle). His life was saved by a series of new techniques
first developed on animals. Animal research will be involved in the
search for a cure for the most deadly diseases. So when presented
with this story what would you choose, animal or human? If given
the chose, how many of us would choose the lives of 100 lab rats over one
human? No more people should suffer or die because of some animal
rights activist.
Those people that are
for animal testing believe that animal testing is a practice that all people
can’t do without. They believe that animal testing is the only way
to determine cures and vaccines.
The history of the benefits
of animal research is marked by dramatic breakthroughs. Working with
animals in research is vital to continued medical practice. But what
would happen if we didn’t have animal research? Here are a few facts
that help
to prove that animal research is important to
human beings.
Polio
would kill or cripple thousands of unvaccinated children and adults this
year.
Most
of the nation’s one million insulin-dependent diabetics wouldn’t be insulin
dependent, they
would be dead.
60
million Americans would risk death from heart attack, stroke or kidney
failure
from lack of medication
to control their high blood pressure.
