Full-time faculty members who are presenting
papers or who have other significant responsibility (their names will appear
on the program) at national/international or major regional conferences
may receive up to $600 from the Vice President for Academic Affairs travel
reserve.
Each fall, academic division leaders forward to
the Vice President for Academic Affairs a request for travel funds for
faculty members who have been notified that their presentations have been
accepted as well as those who have submitted presentations but have no
decision regarding acceptance.
The request must include:
1. the names of the faculty members who
will participate in conferences,
2. the title and status of their submission for
presentation (or a description of the role they will play at the conference),
3. the relationship of the trip to faculty professional
development goals,
4. and the dates of travel, location of
the conference, and total estimated costs.
Following a review of the requests, the Vice President
for Academic Affairs transfers travel funds to each division to be used
to support travel requests. The Vice President for Academic Affairs will
reserve funds for those faculty members whose papers are pending acceptance.
If the funds are not used for the approved travel, they must be returned
to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
