Description: All labs will involve taking readings and performing data analysis, uncertainty calculations, plotting graphs when required and writing a short discussion. A calculator with stat functions will be required.

In-Class Labs: In-class labs will either be handed out the day of the lab or posted on the web prior to the lab. Every student must submit his or her own completed in-class labs at the end of the lab period. Data tables, graphs, and calculations should be shown/included in the space provided or on the back pages if necessary. Possible reasons for deductions: missing data tables, graphs, and/or calculations; missing units; improper format for graphs; incomplete sentences and responses; above target % errors or differences; and neatness.

Format Report: There will be two such reports assigned during the semester.
After adding all the scores, I generally use the following for calculating the final grade (expressed as a percentile):
100 - 93: A
92 - 90: A-
89 - 87: B+
86 - 83: B
82 - 80: B-
79 - 77: C+
76 - 73: C
72 - 70: C-
69 - 67: D+
66 - 63: D
62 - 60: D-
59 - 0: F

More Resources: WSC provides an array of services to assist students. These include the U.S. Conn Library and the Learning Center, which can provide peer tutoring for most classes. The Counseling Center can assist is stress management and individual counseling. For more information on these and other resources available to you, contact the Dean of Students Office at 375-7213.
