The
Robert
G. Foote Outstanding Student in Geography
Go
back to Geography Awards.
Bob Foote came to WSC in
1970 and retired in the spring of 2000. In his thirty years, he taught
thousands of students, served on nearly every college committee, helped
prepare hundreds of LEAD fellows for their study tours abroad, and assisted
Pi Gamma Mu as a faculty sponsor.
The
award for Outstanding Student in Geography, now named after Bob, is annually
conferred upon the student who, in the opinion of the Geography faculty,
has achieved the highest academic performance in two or more Geography
courses at Wayne State College during the past academic year. The
recipient receives a handsome certificate suitable for framing.
