There are seven (7) individual map
assignments in Bertolas' World Regional Geography class. Check
your course syllabus for map due dates.
Every registered
student in either section of WRG has access to both base
maps and lists of items to be placed on the base maps. Use your
textbook
or an atlas to locate the geographic items listed for each map
assignment.
Indicate and label these items on the outline maps you are
provided
in the G drive.
Remember, you are being graded on both placement
accuracy and clarity
/ neatness of maps.
How do you gain
access to the map assignment materials? Simple. Make
certain you are registered for this class. Log
into the Internet at any computer connected to a printer and launch
Internet Explorer or Firefox. Follow these instructions:
Go
to http://ecampus.wsc.edu/
Log into your e-campus account using your username and password.
Once in your account, (a) access your G
drive, (b) click on classes,
(c) click on 2013_Spring_1_GEO_0120HN04_World_Regional_Geog, (d)
click on course_materials.
Examine the class assignment materials provided.
Single-click on the item you wish to access. When the dialogue box
pops up, click once on "Open." Print in black & white.
For the first map assignment you will need to access and print out both
Basemap
1 Europe and Map 1 Items.
Also, for advice and guidance on good mapmaking techniques, consult the
Bertolas MapGuidelines that came
with your syllabus.
Remember, printing out each item in black
& white provides best results.
Some map
item lists require you to print out and complete more than one map:
Map 1 Items
will require only Basemap
1 Europe
Map 2-3 Items
will require both Basemap
2 Russia
and Basemap
3 Latin America
Map 4-5-6 Items
will require these three: Basemap
4 Subsaharan
Africa, Basemap
5 NASWA, and Basemap
6 Pacific
Map 7 Items
will require only Basemap
7 Asia
