Donovan earned his Ed.D.
in Exercise Science at the University of
Georgia in 1989 and served on the faculty at Georgia from 1981-1992.
In 1992, he joined the faculty at Wayne State College where he is currently
a professor and teaches a variety of courses in the Exercise Science program.
Donovan has been a member of ACSM
since 1988, a member of the Northland
Chapter of ACSM and a certified Health Fitness Instructor since 1993,
and a Fellow since 1994. His research has focused on validation of
field tests to predict peak aerobic power and metabolic determinants of
endurance performance in young men and women. Donovan has published
research articles in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise and Research
Quarterly for Exercise and Sport. He and his students have presented
numerous research papers at regional and national ACSM meetings as well
as National AAHPERD and NSCA
