Course Description:
Designed to promote an understanding of the theory, skills, methodology, and processes involved in designing, conducting, analyzing, and disseminating a sports medicine research project.

Course Objectives:

  1. To develop an understanding of the value of scientific research.
  2. To distinguish between researchable and non researchable questions.
  3. To identify and explain how independent and dependent variables are related.
  4. To understand what is meant by ethical research.
  5. To gain an understanding of and appreciation for the review of literature, sampling, instrumentation, validity, reliability, and data analysis in the research process.
  6. To gain the necessary skills to develop, implement, and evaluate a research project.
